The New Bmw 4 Series – Refined Styling, A Sportier Character

Endowed with an aesthetic appeal and dynamic flair, the BMW 4 Series has stood out ever since its launch in 2013 with nearly 400,000 sales worldwide up till the end of 2016 as its testimony. In 2013, the BMW 4 Series Coupe was introduced first followed by the BMW 4 Series Convertible and the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe.


The new BMW 4 Series cars feature sharper styling and revised suspension. Accentuating a sporty character, the cars are equipped with restyled LED headlights and LED front fog lamps with LED rear lights emphasising its powerful looks. Moving inside, electroplated detailing, chrome applications and the black centre console reinforces its exclusivity, with the instrument panel’s double stitching and interior trim strips to add a personalized feel. In addition, Snapper Rocks Blue and Sunset Orange are paint finishes available exclusively for the new BMW 4 Series models, with a model-specific wheel design for the Advantage, Sport Line, Luxury Line and M Sport equipment lines.


The new BMW 4 Series Coupe and Gran Coupe come with stiffer suspension for sportier handling with improved lateral and longitudinal dynamics, which also applies to the M Sport suspension and the Adaptive suspension. The cars now boast a more assured straight-line stability and communicative steering.


All of the petrol engines and four-cylinder diesel units fitted in the new BMW 4 Series range stem from the latest BMW EfficientDynamics family of engines, equipped with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. There are three petrol engines which are BMW 420i, BMW 430i and BMW 440i, and three diesel options which are BMW 420d, BMW 430d, BMW 435d and xDrive, available for all of the new BMW 4 Series models.


The power output of the petrol-engined BMW 4 Series model variants ranges from 135 kW / 184 hp in the BMW 420i up to 240 kW / 326 hp in the BMW 440i. Meanwhile, the power spectrum in the diesel line-up extends from 140 kW / 190 hp in the BMW 420d up to the 230 kW / 313 hp of the BMW 435d xDrive. Furthermore, the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe is available in a further diesel variant, the BMW 418d with an output of 110 kW / 150 hp. A total of twelve model variants are available with the option of BMW xDrive, while the BMW 435d xDrive comes with the intelligent all-wheel-drive system as standard, in Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe guise. As for the all-new BMW M4, it features a sharper design too as the BMW M4 Coupe and BMW M4 Convertible now come with the standard adaptive full-LED headlights with its full-LED rear lights injecting technical appeal.
