POLAROID’S ICONIC SUNGLASSES
Polaroid Eyewear, inventor of the original polarized lenses and a leading brand in the mass cool eyewear segment, celebrates its 80th anniversary with a new pair of unique, iconic sunglasses straight from the brand’s archives, yet revisited with a contemporary twist.
The new Polaroid sunglasses are presented through the shots of the original 1940s ad campaign, as a testament to Polaroid’s trendsetting role throughout the past 80 years: today, like back then, the brand continues to set the latest fashion trends.
The 1940s-inspired teardrop wraparound acetate sunglasses feature unique cable temples and come in four colourways: fluorescent orange, fluorescent yellow, black and blue, with gray polarized lenses.
Polaroid Eyewear is a worldwide leader in eye-care and a pioneering international eyewear brand that owes its name to the invention that changed the world of technology and optics: polarized lenses. Polaroid, since it was established by Edwin Land in 1937, has strengthened its reputation as a leading brand in polarized lenses. Today, Polaroid produces and distributes its polarized sunglasses, Clip-ons, SuncoversTM and optical frames worldwide through its owner subsidiaries and its network of exclusive distributors. The brand joined the Safilo Group in April 2012.
