Auto World’s New Zoom

A new line-up of Porsche has ramped up the speed to give more thrill behind the wheels. Powered by new three-litre six-cylinder flat engine with twin-turbo charging, the 911 Carrera Coupé with Porsche-Doppelkupplung (PDK) and Sport Chrono Package sprints from zero to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds – making it two tenths of a second faster than its predecessor.

On the other hand, the top speeds of all models have also increased further: the 911 Carrera now has a top speed of 293 km/h, the 911 Carrera S now reaches 306 km/h, and the 911 Carrera 4S achieves 303 km/h.

The optional Sport Chrono Package for the 911 Carrera is Porsche’s first full mode switch features on the steering wheel, derived from the hybrid mode switch of the 918 Spyder.  Each mode (Normal, Sports, Sports Plus and Individual) enables drivers to configure their own individual vehicle set-up, for example the active suspension management, active engine mounts, PDK shifting strategy and sports exhaust system.

For a bit of the Knightrider inspiration, all models come with online navigation module and voice control, touch and gestures sensitive seven-inch screen.

Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP), the official importer of Porsche in Malaysia, launched the new generation 911 together with Macan GTS in conjunction with the 24 hours Le Mans endurance race weekend.
